Accurate, confidential, & secure interview recording

The Liberty Police Interview Recorder is a simple, easy to use recording system that captures forensic interview and interrogation audio, video and notes for police, law enforcement services, and other government agencies.

How does it work?

The program uses standard Start, Stop and Record buttons. The recorded material is saved into a single file on the recording system hard-drive. Optionally, the file may be automatically and simultaneously recorded to a secure file server and saved onto a CD/DVD. The recordings can later be transcribed or provided to other agencies in a universal playback format.

The recorded notes serve as “bookmarks” or cue points into the recording file. The notes may later be searched to find and identify recordings files.

Supports multi-camera recording

Liberty Interview Recorder supports multi-camera recording. Multi-camera recording means that the Liberty system captures and records multiple complete video feeds for each recording session, instead of doing a more traditional picture-in-a-picture overlay. Multi-camera support is critical for applications where users want to capture two complete streams of video. This can be especially important when recording a close view of the subject and a wide-angle view of an entire room, or for child advocate or adolescent interviews where the subject may move around. Older picture-in-a-picture type solutions use an overlay technique where a portion of the recording stream may be overlaid by a second camera feed, thus obscuring the primary camera and degrading the resulting video.

Because the Liberty system records separate video feeds for each camera, the end result is two separate and complete videos. The separate video feeds are saved into a single recording file. They may be played-back individually, or at the same time. They may also be individually saved into a different playback format, or saved into a side-by-side format where both camera feeds can be seen without
obstruction.

Save audio/video recordings into standard PDF files with cue points and annotations

Audio/Video recordings may be saved into standard PDF documents. Annotations can provide cue points into the recordings and playback is facilitated through Windows Media Player. A proprietary playback program is not required.

Bookmarks provide multiple cue points to where the operator may instantaneously jump the audio/video playback.

The Liberty Interview Recorder integrates with the Liberty Evidence Management System and the Post Recording Manager for a complete and secure file management system.

The Liberty Player for Windows

The Liberty Player provides playback facilities for your captured audio files. The Liberty Interview Player is available as a no cost download. The Player lets you select and listen to individual channels in a recording or a mix of several or all of the channels. The Player runs on PCs with Windows that have standard audio capabilities. An optional foot pedal for controlling playback is available.

We support implementations of all sizes and complexities

The Liberty system provides the ideal recording solution for both large and small police organizations. The system has been selected and implemented in large police organizations with over 1,000 badged officers supporting civilian populations of over 1 million people. Alternatively, the system has also been selected by smaller police organizations with only a single interview/interrogation room.

In the case of a large police organization, the Liberty Interview System can be supplied with a browser interface facility that links the user to a database of the recording files. The browser interface provides search and retrieve facilities that in turn provides the force with quick access to all of their recording files through a central web interface.

For smaller police organizations, the recorder may be installed onto a single computer to record a single interview room. In such a case, a local search and retrieval program may be used to find files and a database is not generally required.
